Accessible Spoon

prototype
cherry, walnut oil, joined by mortise and tenon joint
This is a personal experiment where I explore a possible route to making a spoon that is more easily used by someone with limited hand mobility. The bend and wide handle change the way the spoon is used, changing the position from that similar to holding a pencil- held sideways- to a hand position where the spoon can be held in a fist and the motion is that of a full-arm circle.
Impact study
grey foam, sandable primer
Here I tried to recreate the form that would be made by a ball thrown into a square of fabric. This project was about creating interesting forms and improving my foam modeling skills.
